How to test YouTube after connecting

  1. Connect to the VPN

    Wait for the app to confirm the connection and do not run two VPNs at once.

  2. Open YouTube

    Open the same video in the YouTube app and in a browser.

  3. Check the quality

    Start at a lower resolution. If playback is smooth, increase the quality.

As a guide, YouTube lists about 2.5 Mbps for 720p, 5 Mbps for 1080p, and 20 Mbps for 4K. Available quality also depends on connection stability and the server you use.

If the video does not play

  • If video works only in the app or only in the browser, check your sign-in status, browser extensions and DNS settings.
  • If video keeps buffering through DiveVPN, try another Russian server: the selected one may be overloaded.
  • Test the video on another network, such as Wi-Fi instead of mobile data. If the problem persists, contact YouTube or your VPN service’s support.
