Free VPN on a computer

AmneziaVPN has separate installers for Windows, macOS and Linux. Before downloading, check the system requirements in the official guide for your platform. For Geodema, install the compatible app named in the dashboard. You will also find the connection configuration there.

Windows

1. Download the stable installer

   Download AmneziaVPN for free · Amnezia mirror. On the website, open Downloads, choose Windows and download the .exe installer.

2. Install the app

   Run the .exe and choose Next, then Install. Keep the default path C:\Program Files\AmneziaVPN. If Windows asks for permission, choose Yes.

3. Create the Free connection

   Open AmneziaVPN, tap “Let’s get started” or “+”, select “VPN by Amnezia”, wait for it to load, and choose Europe. Then click Connect.

macOS

1. Check your macOS version

   The current AmneziaVPN macOS app requires macOS 14 or later. Check compatibility before downloading.

2. Download and install the .pkg

   Download AmneziaVPN for free · Amnezia mirror. On the website, open Downloads, choose macOS and download the .pkg file. Open it, choose Continue, Agree and Install, then confirm with your administrator password or Touch ID.

3. Connect to Free Europe

   Open the app, choose “VPN by Amnezia”, wait for it to load, choose Europe, and connect.

Linux

1. Check the system and permissions

   The official guide lists supported x64 distributions including Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, Arch and openSUSE. Installation requires administrator rights; do not disable IPv6.

2. Download the .linux_x64.run file

   Download AmneziaVPN for free · Amnezia mirror. On the website, open Downloads, choose Linux and download the .linux_x64.run file. On Ubuntu, update the package list and install the libraries listed in the official guide before running it.

3. Make the file executable and run it

   In Terminal, go to Downloads, run chmod +x for the file, and launch it. You can also enable “Allow executing file as program” in the file properties.

4. Create the Free connection

   In the app, choose “VPN by Amnezia”, wait for it to load, choose Europe, and connect.

If installation or connection fails

• Windows: check that AmneziaVPN is installed in the default folder. The official Windows guide covers sc create AmneziaVPN-service and missing MSVCP140.dll or MSVCP141.dll errors.
• macOS: make sure you have version 14 or later and a .pkg downloaded from a stable release. If the system blocks the app, check permissions in the Privacy & Security, Firewall and Network sections of System Settings.
• Linux: check that the required libraries are installed, administrator rights are available and IPv6 is enabled. The official guide lists the dependencies for Ubuntu.
• If Free connects but websites do not load, reload the API configuration in the connection settings.

Geodema on a computer

Open the Geodema dashboard and install a compatible app following the service’s instructions. Copy the configuration from the dashboard and import it into the app.
